Homemade Burgers

Yesterday I was writing my blog posts from the garden, making the most of the lovely weather as i'm sure it won't last too long. We were having a BBQ which will probably be the last of this year because i'm sure the bad weather is on it's way very soon. I decided to make homemade burgers instead of buying them. They were not spiced with anything and didn't contain any crazy flavourings, just simple burgers. It's nice knowing what is going into homemade burgers as with shop bought ones you have no idea what goes into them.

I was making quite a few burgers, and also making them quite big so I used 1kg of extra lean mince. To this I added 1 finely diced white onion, breadcrumbs made from 2 slices of bread, 2 beaten eggs, 1 crumbled oxo cube and salt and pepper to taste. Get your hands stuck in and mix it all together. If you find the mixture is a little to wet add some more breadcrumbs. From this mixture I managed to make 13 burgers but they were really big, they could have been halved to make 26 burgers and they would have still been a decent size.

I finished my burger with some cheese and crispy prosciutto for a salty kick.

Garnier Body Tonic

I'm having quite a busy and very stressful time at the moment so my blog is lacking slightly but I am trying to blog whenever I can. This is just a quick post to update you on a new body tonic i've been using the past few weeks. Even with all of the body lotions and butters I have I still get tempted into buying new ones when I see them instore. This one particularly stood out to me as it was a "body tonic" rather than lotion or butter. I've never come across a body tonic before, so was excited to see what it was like.

I've been using this in the mornings after my shower, it's not heavy like a butter and it's even lighter and thinner than a lotion. I found that it sank into the skin really well and it immediately left it feeling hydrated for most of the day. This is something really different to other products on the market, and as you do with all creams, I wondered whether what they are claiming on the bottle would be true or not. I can honestly say i'm really impressed with this product, I've been using it mainly on my legs and the effect has been amazing, they haven't been as dry as they usually are. I quite liked the smell of it, but I don't think everyone would like it, it's an aquired smell. It's not overpowering, but natural with a touch of citrus. This is a great product for the summer as it's so light and refreshing.

Yog's Frozen Yogurt

So today is the first day of August, summer is here, the Olympics have started, and the sun is shining (some of the time). Last week I tried some amazing strawberry frozen yogurt from M&S, having ran out of that and M&S still not having it in stock I decided to try a different one.

There isn't a really wide selection like there is of ice creams but I think we will start to see more and more as they become even more popular. Even though there isn't a wide range, some of the flavours available are unique and more exciting than the ice cream flavours available. For instance, when I saw that Yog have a passion fruit frozen yogurt I simply had to get it. I absolutely love passion fruit, I usually blend mine into smoothies or mix into a fruit salad to give it a yummier and more tropical flavour.

I bought the Yog passion fruit. First taste, heaven. It is absolutely gorgeous, it's so refreshing, fruity and makes you want to be lying on a beach on a tropical island! It has a very subtle flavour which isn't over powering or sickly. The best thing about it, other than tasting amazing, it's fat free with nowhere near as many calories as ice cream. It's a guilt free pud that is perfect on it's own or with some fruit. I think I'll have to try the chocolate and pomegranate ones next!
Try it for yourself...grab a spoon and enjoy!

Frozen Delights

This week whilst I was shopping in M&S I was craving some ice cream, so off I go to the frozen aisle. They have some great offers on at the moment, I bought the strawberry frozen yogurt and the lemon sorbet.

The lemon sorbet was lovely, very refreshing and perfect for a hot summers day. The strawberry frozen yogurt was amazing, it tastes as good as if not better than normal ice cream. The bonus being that it's nowhere near as many calories, so you don't have to feel guilty about tucking into a yummy treat! I added some strawberries and pomegranate to mine, just to make it even more delicious. I actually went back there today to buy some more of the frozen yogurt only to find out it's all sold out. Although I'm not surprised, it's so yummy and on offer, no wonder its so popular. My only recommendation M&S, get making some more and fill up those shelves!

Top Summer Scents

Today I thought I would tell you about my 3 top summer scents! Which in fact I love so much, I use them all year round!

Soap and Glory
This one is my most recent fragrance purchase, and what a brilliant purchase it was!
It contains one of my favourite scents, the scent that has made me somewhat addicted to the Soap & Glory range. It's just amazing, and at only £16.50 from Boots it's an absolute bargain.

Chloé, eau de parfum
This has to be one of my favourite fragrances ever, I wear it all year round but I would say it is more of a summery scent. With the main aroma being roses, it makes for a lovely feminine and floral scent. Bottle is starting to run out, will need to make sure I replace it soon, couldn't live without this lovely scent for too long!
£38.50 - £66.50

Lacoste - Touch of Pink, Eau de Toilette
This a a perfume which i've used for years, since my early teens and still love it to this day. As you can see from the bottle just like the Chloé it's running on empty and needs to be replenished very soon!
£39.99
