Today I'm writing about a range of shampoos and conditioners from Tesco. They are called 'My Senses'. I doesn't take a genius to notice that they are clearly copying the popular Herbal Essences products, the design, bottle shape and fruity scents are far from original.
I absolutely love the scents of Herbal Essences and up until a few years ago I would regularly use a variety of their shampoos and conditioners. However one day my hair suddenly wouldn't agree with them, making my scalp itchy and sore. I decided to try out these ones from Tesco in the hope that they would be similar to the Herbal Essences range but without the irritation to my scalp.
There are four different ranges to choose from, Colour Sanctuary, Miracle Moisture, Celestial Shine and Heavenly Body. Rather than getting both the shampoo and conditioner from the same range I chose the Miracle Moisture shampoo along with the Celestial Shine Conditioner. One great thing about these products is their price, they cost £1.65 for a 400ml bottle which is quite a bargain at over half of the price of Herbal Essences.
I was glad to find that they didn't cause any irritation on my scalp and it left my hair feeling smooth and well moisturised. However my own senses aren't reacting too well to this new line, personally I found that the scents of both the shampoo and conditioner were far too overpowering. I do like fruity scented products but I just found these to be a little too strong and almost sickly smelling.
If you're looking for a decent shampoo/conditioner on a budget or if you're keen on a strong fruity scent then I'd give it a go. But just a little tip to make sure you don't make the mistake I did, have a smell of them before you buy. I'm sure a lot of people will love these but I just couldn't get on with them.

Have you tried any of the Tesco 'My Senses' range, if so what did you think of them?

TRESemmé Heat Defence
Up until a couple of years a go I would straighten my hair almost every day, but after the years of straightening I've found that my hair has become almost straight on it's own without the need for straighteners. Since I've frequently stopped using heated styling tools I've found that my hair is in so much better condition. I have less split ends, it retains it's natural shine and is much healthier looking.
I still use straighteners every now and then but no where near as much as I used to. However now whenever I use heat products like straighteners or curling tongs I always make sure to use a heat defence spray of some sort to help protect my hair.
I also use the spray every time I use the hairdryer which is almost everyday. Onto partly towel dried hair I generously spritz the defence spray and then continue to dry and style as normal. This particular Heat Defence Styling Spray from the TRESemmé Protect range is the one which I've been using for a long time. It protects your hair from the heat of styling tools up to the heat of 230 degrees.
The main thing I've noticed from using this product, apart from protecting my hair against the heat is how soft it makes my hair feel. If I use my hair dryer and forget to use the spray then I can notice the difference in the feel of my hair. I've found that it makes my hair shiny and soft.
There are a couple of other different heat protect sprays which I've bought to test out so I'll be sure to let you know what I think of them soon!

Batiste Dry Shampoo
For a long time i've been using TRESemmé dry shampoo, a product which has become a necessity for me to have just incase of bad hair days or if my hairs a tad greasy. This week whilst shopping in Sainsbury's I noticed that the Batiste dry shampoo was on offer. I've always known about the Batiste products but never purchased them before now, boy have I been missing out! The first thing you notice is the lovely tropical smell, it reminds me of being on holiday, "the caribbean in a can". Now for it's actual use, it completely took the greasy look away from my hair and gave it plenty of volume. I have been officially converted, sorry TRESemmé but Batiste has taken over as my favourite dry shampoo!

TRESemmé Products...
Instant Refresh, Volumising Dry Shampoo
This is a product I use quite a few times a week, It revives your hair and put some life back into it when you need a quick fix. I often use it in the afternoon, after washing my hair in the morning to give it some more volume. I usually wash my hair everyday, but I know thats not the best thing to do as it takes the oils out of your hair, so somedays I just use this instead. It's fantastic, I normally stock up on this product when I go to Asda, they usually have good offers on TRESemmé products.
Split Remedy
I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my recent package from New Look to find these lovely little samples along with my order, they are usually filled with leaflets that go straight in the bin.
The samples included shampoo, conditioner and a leave in treatment all from the Split Remedy range. The shampoo and conditioner were good but had the same effects as most of the other different TRESemmé types, my favourite of the TRESemmé shampoos and conditioners is still the 24 Hour Body range as it gives really great volume to my hair whilst still leaving it healthy and nourished. The leave in treatment was really good, it left my hair feeling really smooth and shiny and I probably will purchase the full size of this product.

Long loved Boots Products...
Evening...
After having my boots delivery today, I realised that I forgot to order my miracle foot cream which i'm running out of! The product is Gorgeous Feet - rapid cracked heel repair cream. It's fantastic, I usually use it quite liberally all over my feet after having a bath or shower just before bedtime. I put it on just before I go to bed and then put socks over my feet so that it allows it to soak in overnight!
It's only £4.99 from Boots.
Another product from Boots that I have used for many many years is their Coconut & Almond Intensive Hair Mask. I use it about twice a week after shampooing and let it soak into my hair for atleast 5 minutes before rinsing and then conditioning. I've just stocked up on a couple more tubs of it to make sure I don't run out again.
This product is an absolute bargain at only £1.99 for the tub.

TRESemmé... c'est fantastique!
Evening all!
Up until a few years back my favourite shampoo and conditioner was Herbal Essences, purely because of the amazing smell of it. TRESemmé often used to make an appearance, when it was on offer or when Herbal Essences wasn't available. But then a few years back when herbal essences changed their bottle designs, and I think they changed something in the ingredients as I can no longer use them because it makes my scalp sore and itchy! Especially the red bottled one, which annoyingly happened to be my favourite.
This week i've been trying these new products of the TRESemmé range. I'm not too sure how long it's been out but i've only just discovered it. Its called Breakage Defence and it is fantastic, even whilst washing my hair it made my hair feel instantly silky and smooth. Its made of a formula that includes Vitamin B12 and Keratin which is used to revitalise and strengthen weak hair.
I thought it may take a while until my hair started to feel stronger and looked healthier, however after just one use of these two products together I was told by two people in one day that my hair looked really healthy with a lovely shine to it.
So I would highly recommend the use of TRESemmé Breakage Defence daily as well as Soap & Glory's Hair Supply once a week. With these two wonder products used together as part of your hair care regime, you cannot go far wrong I promise you that!
